Christmas songs, movies and books you need to know about

There are only a few more days left until Christmas and I’m very excited!! I am a big lover of Christmas. I do believe that first of all Christmas is about the birth of Jesus, but besides that, I also love the kind of Christmas that includes a decorated tree, ugly Christmas sweaters (that can actually be very good looking) and of course lots of holiday hits to sing along to. Oh, how much I love Christmas! There actually are some Christmas songs, books and movies that I would like to share with you. And these aren’t the typical Christmass things like a song as All I want for Christmas is by Mariah Carey or a movie like Home Alone. No, I’m hoping to introduce you to some new Christmas stuff. I hope this will get you in the Christmas mood if you weren’t already 😉

The Songs:

The Movies:

I actually don’t really watch a lot of movies which is why I also haven’t watched many Christmas movies yet. But still, I do have two movies that I need to tell you about.

Angels in the snow

The first movie I want to talk about is a modern Christmas movie and it teaches you about love and respect. I’m the worst at summarizing anything so if you want to know what exactly the movie is about, you should just watch the trailer. All that I can say is that I think it’s an amazing movie!

Mickey’s Christmas carol

So here is a movie from a whole other time. It was released in 1983 and it was my favourite Christmas movie as a child and it still is one of my favourites. It’s basically the Disney version of ‘The Christmas Carol’ story by Charles Dickens. A story about a rich man who, on one Christmas night, is being taken by three ghosts (of the past, the present and the future) to show him his wrong behaviour. This opens his eyes and teaches him the true spirit of Christmas.

I love reading just as much as I love writing; so that’s a lot. To me reading a book is like diving into a whole new world and it’s like I’m experiencing everything myself. I love it! While reading the next two books I could just perfectly feel the Christmas vibes and it was amazing.

What light by Jay Asher

A cute temporary romance topic that is not only about love but also about forgiveness, that is how I would describe this book in one sentence. Jay Asher is the person who also wrote the bestseller ’13 Reasons Why’. After years of not having a published a book he is finally back with this amazing Christmas Young Adult book and I’m in love. Here’s the synopsis:

Sierra’s family runs a Christmas tree farm in Oregon – it’s an idyllic place for a girl to grow up, except that every year they have to pack up and move to California to set up their Christmas tree lot for the season. So Sierra lives two lives: her life in Oregon and her life at Christmas. And leaving one always means missing the other. Until this particular Christmas, when Sierra meets Caleb, and one life begins to eclipse the other. . .

Dash and Lily’s book of dares

This book is the last thing I’m going to tell you something about. And the thing is that I do not have much new to say about this book. You can taste the Christmas atmosphere just as well as in the first book I talked about. There is one more thing that I love about this book and that is that it takes place in New York City! I love books that take place in New York! Well, here is yet another synopsis because I suck at summarizing:

I’ve left some clues for you. If you want them, turn the page. If you don’t, put the book back on the shelf, please. At the urge of her lucky-in-love brother, sixteen-year-old Lily has left a red notebook full of dares on her favourite bookshop shelf, waiting for just the right guy to come along and accept. Curious, snarky Dash isn’t one to back down from a challenge – and the Book of Dares is the perfect distraction he’s been looking for.As they send each other on a scavenger hunt across Manhattan, they’re falling for each other on paper. But finding out if their real selves share their on-page chemistry could be their biggest dare yet…

I hope you liked these recommendations and if you did so, or if you have any recommendations for me, let me know in the comments!
